Jerry Gerald Steadman was born June 14, 1936 in\u00a0Elkhart\u00a0to Floyd Steadman (b. January 13, 1907) and Mary Ethyl Kennedy (b. July 3, 1910). Floyd’s parents were James I. Steadman (b. November 17, 1873 in\u00a0Houston\u00a0County) and Georgia Pelvy Steadman (b. November 16, 1880). Mary Ethyl’s parents were William Joseph Kennedy (b. June 11, 1870) and Ida Mae Walling Kennedy (b. May 15, 1882). Jerry Steadman had 3 brothers; James Steadman of\u00a0Shreveport,\u00a0La.; Billy Steadman of\u00a0Palestine\u00a0and Wayne Steadman of\u00a0Houston, Tx. Wynice Caskey was born January 17, 1939 in\u00a0Slocum,\u00a0Texas\u00a0to Walter Lewis Caskey (b. May 27, 1912 in\u00a0Houston\u00a0County) and Viva Franklin Caskey (b. October 3, 1913 in\u00a0Anderson\u00a0County). Walter’s parents were Walter Monroe Caskey (b. November 8, 1877) and Laucinda Oliver Caskey (b. October 4, 1878). Viva’s parents were Lawson Carl Franklin (b. February 15, 1893 in\u00a0Prescott,\u00a0Arkansas) and Miriam Hodges Franklin (b. November 25, 1895 in\u00a0Anderson\u00a0County). Jerry Gerald Steadman and Wynice Caskey were united in marriage on December 23, 1955, in\u00a0Elkhart,\u00a0Texas. To this marriage were born 4 children: Gwendyl Ann (b. September 22, 1956), Terry Glenn (b. December 7, 1957), LuCindy (b. September 1, 1960) and Patricia Nell (b. November 16, 1963). Gwendyl Ann married Donald Gene Weisinger on July 11, 1975 in\u00a0Grapeland,\u00a0Texas. The marriage was performed by her father, Jerry Steadman. They have 2 children, Jason Don Weisinger (b. October 20, 1978), and Jeremy Wayne Weisinger (b. May 7, 1980). They all live in Grapeland. Terry Glenn married Barbara Davis of Kennard on May 14, 1981 in\u00a0Crockett,\u00a0Texas. The marriage was performed by Terry’s father, Jerry Steadman in the log home near Crockett. They have 3 children: Roxan Taylor (b. December 26, 1972), Joey Glenn (b. April 5, 1982), and Matthew DeWayne (b. August 17, 1984). They live out of\u00a0Crockett,\u00a0Texas. LuCindy married Bobby Thomas on May 23, 1985, in\u00a0Grapeland,\u00a0Texas. They have one son, Timothy Wayne (b. February 10, 1980). They live in\u00a0Westwood,\u00a0Texas. Patricia Nell married Ray Wright on June 5, 1980 at San Pedro Baptist Church. The marriage was performed by Patricia’s father, Jerry Steadman. They have 2 children: Michael Ray (b. October 18, 1980) and Shannon Rene’ (b. August 20, 1985). They live in Center,\u00a0Texas. Jerry and Wynice Steadman both grew up in\u00a0Anderson\u00a0County. They moved to\u00a0Brownwood,\u00a0Texas\u00a0in 1964 so Jerry could enter Seminary at\u00a0Howard\u00a0Payne\u00a0University. He had been ordained in July 1965 at\u00a0First\u00a0Baptist\u00a0Church\u00a0in\u00a0Madisonville,\u00a0Texas. He preached at several county churches and also coached and taught in several schools across\u00a0Texas\u00a0before returning home in 1960 to become principal in the Grapeland Junior High. He preached at several churches in this area, preaching his last sermon in October 1981 atOak\u00a0Grove\u00a0Baptist\u00a0Church, where his son Terry Steadman would preach his first sermon 5 years later. (October, 1986). Jerry G. Steadman died December 12, 1981 and is buried beside his parents in the\u00a0Pilgrim\u00a0Cemetery,\u00a0Elkhart,\u00a0Texas.<\/p>
