Bobby Platt is a fifth generation Texan. He is a descendant of Thomas Platt who came to Texas in 1837 and is the son of Truman and Maggie Lee Martin Platt Low. He is also the grandson of John Thomas and Ada Platt. Bobby married Wilma Godby on July 7, 1959 inPasadena, Texas. After having attended college at Sam Houston State University for three years, Bobby joined the United States Air Force. He served in the air force for twenty-one years. He and his family now live on his Grandmother Martin’s farm. He and Wilma own and operate Platt’s Washateria, a flower shop called The Flower Patch and in his spare time he repairs washing machines. Bobby and Wilma Platt have four children: Mike married Pam Musick and they have two sons, Randy and Richard. Douglas married Lee Ann Watson and they have a daughter, Thara and son, Doug. Laura Platt and Kim Platt are the other two children of Bobby and Wilma Platt. They are both unmarried and help their parents in their businesses. The youngest daughter, Kim, is a college student at Sam Houston State University.
