Albert Franklin Dickey, son of James Monroe (Roe) Dickey and Samantha Cade11 (McKenzie) Dickey, married Addie Ethel, daughter of John Austin Rush and Katherine (Hawker) Rush. To Albert and Ethel (Etha) Dickey were born four children: Lola Belle (Mrs. Milton) Adams, Calvin Edward, Elmer Lee and James Earl. Calvin has been a farmer, oil company worker, barber, substitute rural mail carrier and lay-pastor. He married Leona Mitchell. And who is Leona Mitchell? It seems that Nathan Mitchell married Ada Leona Sullivan and they had a son and daughter, Bennie Mitchell and Lula (Mrs. Clay) Jones. Also, Matthew (Matt) Coleman married Frances Eugenia Fowler and to them was born seven daughters and two sons. Among them was Willie Eleanor who was married to Bennie Mitchell. Bennie and Willie Mitchell had four daughters and three sons, they were: twins, Leona and Leota, (Leota died in infancy) Lee Harold, Benola (Mrs. O.C. “Ned”) Daniels, Porter Aldridge, Flora Mae (Mrs. Frank) Jones and Vernon Matthew. To Calvin and Leona Dickey were born two sons: Loyd and Lewis. Loyd married Mildred Wilkins, daughter of John and Ina Wilkins. They have one son, Roger Lewis. Lewis married Betty McCrary, daughter of Irvin and Doris McCrary of Ft. Worth; they have two children: Carolyn Elaine and Gregory Mitchell. Loyd became a rural mail carrier, starting at Percilla, later being transferred to Grapeland when the Percilla office was discontinued. Roger Dickey graduated from Grapeland High School in 1980. He then earned an Associate Degree in Farm Management from Tyler Junior College, graduating cum laude and is engaged in farming and ranching. He is a substitute mail carrier and is also a member of the Grapeland Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Service, and is employed by the Palestine Fire Department.
